This policy explains what personal information Samman Creative and Consulting Pvt. Ltd. (“SCC”, “we”, “us”) collects through sammancreative.com, why we collect it and what you can ask us to do with it.
Who we are
This website is operated by Samman Creative and Consulting Pvt. Ltd., a company based in Kathmandu, Nepal. We are responsible for the personal information described in this policy. You can reach us about privacy at marketing@sammancreative.com.
Our companies (Code Camp by SCC, Samman Publishing House, The Guest List Nepal and Dineesh Tuladhar) run their own websites. Those websites have their own privacy policies, which apply when you use them.
What we collect
When you contact us through the form. We collect your name, email address, subject and message. You can also choose to give us a phone number, the name of your organisation and its size.
Spam protection on the form. To tell people from automated spam, the form uses Cloudflare Turnstile. It starts only when you begin filling in the form, and Cloudflare receives your IP address and some browser details to run the check. We also keep a scrambled (hashed) version of your IP address and email address, only to limit how many messages one person can send, and it is deleted automatically after a day or two. A message that looks like automated spam is stored but not emailed to us.
When you email us. We receive whatever you include in your email, along with your email address.
When you browse the site. We use privacy-friendly analytics that does not use cookies and does not follow you across other websites. It records aggregated information such as the pages visited, the website that referred you, your country, and your browser and device type. It does not tell us who you are.
Technical information. Like any website, our hosting provider processes technical information such as your IP address, browser and the time of your visit, so that it can deliver the site and keep it secure.
We do not use advertising or tracking cookies, and we do not buy personal information from third parties.
How we use it
We use the information you send us to reply to you, to consider the partnership, investment or other conversation you have asked about, and to keep a record of our correspondence. We use aggregated analytics to understand how the site is used and to improve it.
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use it for automated decisions about you.
Who we share it with
We share personal information only where we need to:
- Service providers that host this website, store form submissions, check that submissions come from people and handle email for us. They process the information on our instructions and for no other purpose.
- SCC group companies, when your enquiry concerns one of them and you would reasonably expect us to pass it on.
- Professional advisers, such as lawyers and accountants, where needed.
- Authorities, when the law requires it, or to protect our rights, our users or the public.
Where it is stored
Our service providers may store and process information outside Nepal, including in the United States. Where they do, we rely on their contractual and security commitments to protect it.
How long we keep it
We keep enquiries and correspondence for as long as we need them to respond to you and to maintain a record of our conversations. We review what we hold at least once a year and delete what no longer serves a purpose. Analytics information is kept only in aggregated form.
How we protect it
We use reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect personal information, including access controls and encrypted connections. No system is perfectly secure, so please do not send us sensitive information through the contact form.
Your choices and rights
You can ask us to:
- tell you what personal information we hold about you;
- correct information that is wrong or incomplete;
- delete information we no longer need;
- stop using your information for a particular purpose.
To make a request, email marketing@sammancreative.com. We may need to confirm your identity before we act on it. We handle personal information in line with the Privacy Act, 2075 (2018) of Nepal and other applicable law. Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights under local law.
Children
This website is intended for adults. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children through it. Code Camp by SCC works with students through its own website and programmes, under its own policies.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy when our website or practices change. The date at the top shows when it was last updated.
